Education Session 8:00 - 8:45 am - Our speaker will be Matt Lee from Kort Physical Therapy. Matt's topic
"On you left!” Tips for better cycling speed and endurance.
The essential components of greater riding comfort, speed and distance are generating and transferring power from you to your bike (and not just through the pedals).
During our session, we will learn about your body and muscle power. We will take a quick self muscular strength assessment of key muscles groups important for cycling. We will discuss supplemental exercises that may improve overall speed and ability for climbing and sprinting.
We move onto the mechanics of how the bike/body interfaces with riding and discuss several of the most common conditions causing discomfort that may slow a rider down and limit riding time. Each condition will be followed by a brief discussion of potential causes and solutions.
Rides offered - We will have group rides with leaders, but you will also have the option to come, sign in, and do something on your own ... Doesn't matter, miles will still count!!! If you plan to ride on your own, you can come and sign in anytime between 8:00 - 11... Just time it so you're done by 1ish.
Rides with leaders start at 9:00 am
Restrooms are available on site - Education sessions will be held regardless of weather - Rides may be cancelled or rescheduled if there are severe weather issues. Check the BCC forum and FaceBook for updates.
