The 11-mile, one-way loop around Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Loop opens at sunrise on Wednesday mornings and is closed to motor vehicles until 10 a.m. Stay in nearby Townsend, drive up to Cades Cove and be ready to ride at dawn when the gates open and you may be rewarded with black bear sightings as well as other wildlife. Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge nearby as well as all the other attractions in GSMNP.
There are a few hotels in Townsend to choose from along with cabins, KOA campground, Cades Cove campground, etc, etc.
