Primary Ride Leader: Mike Wirth - 859-533-6347
Saturday, June 16 rides will have a mass start from the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel and a short ride through the Colonial Williamsburg on the way out of town. The lunch stop for all three rides is at York River State Park and will be catered by Pierce’s Pitt Bar-B-Que. Three routes are planned with lengths of 35, 46 and 62 miles. The medium and long routes will have a rest stop at Little Creek Reservoir Park. These routes take full advantage of the beautiful country roads surrounding our state and local parks.
The 46th Annual Eastern Tandem Rally will be held in Williamsburg, VA from Friday, June 15 to Sunday June 17, 2018.
For the first time in 25 years, the Eastern Tandem Rally will return to Williamsburg, Virginia. Located in the heart of Virginia’s Historic Triangle, the Williamsburg area is noted for its beauty and historic attractions: Colonial Williamsburg, Historic Jamestowne, and Yorktown. The greater Williamsburg area is also a great place for cycling (and especially tandem cycling) with over 70 miles of bicycle facilities.
Your Williamsburg, VA hosts – Karen and Reed Nester – have called Williamsburg home for more than 30 years, and have ridden their tandem in the area for 15 years. They know all of the best cycling roads around Williamsburg, and are anxious to share. Together with volunteers from the RATS (Richmond Area Tandem Society) and BikeWalk Williamsburg, we will have a wonderful weekend of riding and socializing.
The Rally will be headquartered at the Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel, adjacent to and within walking distance of the Colonial Williamsburg Historic Area. In addition to the three days of scheduled rides, we will offer additional “on your own” rides for those arriving early or staying later.
For more information, see the Itinerary, Lodging, Routes, Jersey and Frequently Asked Questions pages.
Registration will open in early February 2018.
