Overall Difficulty:

As a general rule, the rides in Madison County tend to be hilly.  The climbs are not particularly long, but some of them get pretty dang steep and challenging.  Most routes have between 1200 to 2000 feet of climbing in a 30 mile ride.  We do have a couple of routes that we love that are flat-ish, and some that we love that are particularly hilly.  Some have store stops and some do not, but that will be discussed prior to the start of any ride.  We love changing things up and heading off in different directions to keep life interesting.

Details:

It is hard to make a detailed description of Madison County rides.  The terrain is amazingly varied, the roads are narrow, twisty, and generally lightly traveled.  Most of the drivers are polite and there are little country stores scattered about the area.  We DO have a lot of dogs, and they sometimes give us a run for our money, but we know where they are and usually avoid them.  We have about 15 different routes that we usually take, but there are so many great roads here, that the permutations are almost infinite.
