Overview: Fran and Tim Crowley are hosting Pedal & Paddle on Saturday July 21 starting with a 23.5 mile (only +964ft climbing) bike ride from downtown Danville at 9:30am, followed by a short 10 minute drive to their home on Lake Herrington where we will play in the water and enjoy food & beverages provided by the Social Committee. Fran & Tim will share their 5 canoes, 3 kayaks, raft and 1 SUP plus invite you to bring your own (you have the option to drop off watercraft before the ride if you like).
PEDAL portion: Meet at Danville Bike & Footwear @ 417 W Main St, Danville, KY 40422. There is free parking in lots behind the Danville City Hall just west of the shop plus plenty of street parking. Please arrive in time for 9:20 announcements, then breaking into our smaller pace groups to start rolling at 9:30.
Following is the bike route. If anyone is wanting a longer route, there is time for you to propose one or work with Fran to develop one.
PADDLE Portion: After you finish your ride, please drive the 10 minutes to
1122 Taylor Road, Danville, KY 40422. You may park on their yard, along the road and are speaking with neighbors. We will enjoy refreshments, water sports, and visiting. You may BYOB if you like. The social committee plans to provide soft drinks, water, gatorade, watermelons, salad fixings, cheese & crackers, sandwich makings and frozen treats.
Should you have a watercraft that you prefer to not park in downtown during the ride, Fran and Tim welcome you to drop it off before the ride.
