For the last 5 years, the BCC has helped Audi of Lexington giveaway bikes to kids through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass.
Audi provides the 300 bikes and the BCC provides the helmets. Once again, we will be gathering on December 14th to do this. Rowena will be organizing this endeavor in the near future. However, before that, the bikes need to be assembled. In years past, 2 people (Chad and Martin) from Audi have done all the assemble work. It takes about 10-15 minutes per bike. You do the math. That’s a big commitment.
This year I’m organizing volunteers to help Chad and Martin assemble the 300 bikes. We will be meeting at the Audi of Lexington Showroom (3000 Pink Pigeon Parkway) on Wednesday November 13th from 5-8 PM. If we don’t finish the bikes that night, then we will work on them again on Wednesday November 20th from 5-8 PM or until we get them all assembled.
Food and drinks will be provided. Wear comfortable clothes. If you have any bike tools, bring them. As many of you know, I am not the most mechanically inclined, but I can help and so can you, open boxes and unwrap bikes if you can’t assemble them. Everyone can help in some way.
My goal is at least 30 people show up. See you on Wednesday November 13th from 5-8 PM . The more the merrier. Let’s assemble some bikes to help put smiles on the kids’ faces. If you have any questions, give me a call 859-321-1351 or Chad 859-333-0531.
Thanks, looking forward to seeing you there
