Strenuous

Details: We liked this route so much last week, we're doing it again! This is a route on both asphalt and GRAVEL roads. There is a 1-mile section on Barker Branch road that is NOT paved - it is gravel. Be forewarned that standard road bike tires are not what I recommend. I do recommend a restroom stop at the rest area at Slade or the Hemlock Lodge before parking at the start as the Shelter #2 restrooms have not been open before 9 a.m. of late.
