Savory Cycle is coming to Paris! Building on five years of successful Savory Cycle rides (
savorycycle.org
), we are adding a half-day event in Bourbon County. The Saturday, June 8 ride will start and end at Trackside restaurant, which will serve breakfast and lunch (see below). Lexington’s Sunrise Bakery will also send some treats. Cajun and old-time tunes will be provided at lunch by Double Dog Dare. Participation is limited to 100 riders.
The roads in Bourbon County are not as hilly as the routes we’ve used in Woodford County, so this is a great chance for beginning cyclists—or those just looking for a relaxed ride—to try Savory Cycle. We will have routes of roughly 20, 30, and 40 miles, with maps and cue sheets.
The event is a fundraiser for Broke Spoke Community Bike Shop in Lexington, and tickets are $45. Broke Spoke is committed to providing better access to better bicycles for all people, and to empowering individuals to perform their own bicycle maintenance. The shop partners with several local charities, including the Hope Center and Kentucky Refugee Ministries. So a big thank you to our Savory Cycle Light sponsors, Trackside Restaurant and Xtreme Fitness of Paris, and Sunrise Bakery of Lexington. And to Broomwagon Coffee & Bikes for providing SAG service.
Registration is open!. Hope to see you there!
