Ride Options
Saturday route options include 26, 35, 53, 75, and the traditional Horsey Hundred. All routes return each day to the Georgetown starting point. Recommended starting times, between 8 and 10 a.m. are listed on the route maps. A list of the various volunteer opportunities available during Horsey Hundred weekend is provided on the following page. It is our volunteers that make the event a success, and without our volunteers, the event would not be possible, so please consider volunteering if you can!
Every club member that volunteers at least 4 hours to support the Horsey Hundred may ride for free. Volunteer shifts are generally scheduled in 4 hour blocks, however some are not. In these instances, since the shift time was established to meet our specific needs, volunteers working these shifts will also be able to ride for free – sign up for these shifts are first come, first served (which is the case with all volunteer opportunities) Shorter shifts are registration on Friday from 7 pm – 10 pm registration on Sunday from 7 am to 9 am, and BCC store on Sunday from 6 am – 9 am.
What to do if you want to volunteer – Contact the volunteer coordinator via e-mail or telephone (contact information provided above) and provide the following information:
- Your name, phone number and e-mail address;
- Dates and times you want to volunteer;
- What you want to do (provide a couple of options, and things begin filling up, it’s good to have options!!);
- Tee shirt size;
- Whether you will be riding, and if so, what days; and
- Whether you will be able to come to Georgetown College to pick up your volunteer shirt, wrist band, etc..
Volunteer Ride Registration and Check In – Volunteers should register with the volunteer coordinator rather than through the website and should check in and the volunteer check in table in Georgetown rather than where other riders check in. You will be provided with your volunteer tee shirt, maps and wrist band when you check in. Volunteer check in will be open the same hours as ride registration (3 pm-10 pm on Friday, 6 am – 10 am Saturday, and 7 am – 9 am on Sunday). If for some reason you WILL NOT be in Georgetown to check in at any of the appointed times, please contact the volunteer coordinator to make other arrangements.
Kids and Volunteering - If you have children over the age of 12 who want to volunteer, we would love to have them! Please submit their information along with your own. If your child needs volunteer credit for school or a civic group, just let us know and we’ll be happy to verify their volunteer hours.
