Distance: 40 mile bike ride in Anderson/Franklin counties
Pace: B Pace 14-16 MPH over hilly terrain
Directions to Ride Start:
From Lexington, take Bluegrass parkway southwest toward Lawrenceburg, exit at the Lawrenceburg exit and take HWY 127 north, 5.0 miles to County Park Road on the right (past Wal-Mart). Turn right and travel 0.3 miles to the softball field parking lot.
From Frankfort/I-64 and US-127 intersection, take HWY 127 south, 8.5 miles to County Park Road on the left (before Wal-Mart). Turn left and travel 0.3 miles to the softball field parking lot.
Ride Notes:
This is not a no drop or beginner ride, the terrain is hilly but not ridiculous. I’d rather ride as a group but we may get strung out along the way. We will regroup at the 18 and 35 mile store stops (possibly at other locations). There will be bail out notes to make the route shorter if you prefer, but PLEASE SIGN IN that you’ve finished the ride if you do so. There are a couple of good lunch spots in Lawrenceburg for after the ride if you're interested.
Bring a spare tube and plenty of water, as it will be hot even though it’s early.
Rain cancels. Check the 'Rides' section on the forum for updates and cancellations.
