Annual Kick Off Ride!
Submitted by Dave Overton
The Annual Season Kick-off ride will be held Saturday March 24th at Midway's Walter Bradley Park. Wheels will roll at 10:30 AM so we can be back in time for lunch. The club will provide BBQ, members should bring a side dish or dessert to share. All riders are welcome. We will have routes and leaders for A, B, C, and novice riders. Keith Batchelor will be giving a pre-ride briefing.
Riders who have received a wearable award from the BCC or other cycling organization are requested to wear them on the ride so we can honor those who serve the BCC and the cycling community in general.
If you have cycling related items you don't need, we will have a velo swap as well. Bring your own table or blanket to display your items for sale. Midway is a beautiful area to ride and has always been very friendly to cyclists. Let's kick our spring touring season off right with a ride through the beautiful horse country! Broke Spoke Community Bike Shop Update
Submitted by Tim Buckingham, Broke Spoke
Gearing up to open at our new location!
You know you are getting to the home stretch when you get to use "accent paint." Yup, we are putting some nice finishing touches on the new space and are planning to be open around April 1., although our capacity might be limited for the first few days.
Now is a great time to purge all your old bikes, parts and accessories and bring them down to Broke Spoke. We will be hosting multiple bike yard sales throughout the spring and summer as a way to provide better access to better bikes but to also raise funds to sustain the shop.
All volunteers who are interested in helping to build bikes, teach classes, sweep floors, or help with the big moving day, please contact
