Meeting minutes 1/13/2010

Minutes from last month approved

Treasurer:  $44K at beginning of year this year, approx. 3K less than last year.

Reports-

Website- nothing to report

Race- nothing to report.

Ride- Mike would like to work on ride leader training for next season.  The club will be giving a ride leader kit to those that lead more than 10 rides.  Awards to be given at banquet.

Nominating- Election balloting will commence on 1/13/2010.

Events-

Tour of the Red River Gorge- the race will be expanding to 6 stages, including a team time trial.  June 4-6 adult amateur races at red river gorge area, adding a Pro 1 and 2 women’s category, July 12-17 adult criteriums, all the teams will be returning (except one).  Cliff hopes the club can help provide volunteers. 

Horsey Hundred- Planning is going well, 2 vendors have signed on.  Registration is available online. 

Ride for the Red- Planning is continuing.  It will be at Equus Run again.

Red River Rally- Planning is ongoing.

Education- None

Membership- 132 members have paid dues for this year so far.

League of American Bicyclists- Griffe is compiling an application for club of the year award.

Advocacy- None

Mayors Bike Task Force- The task force will not be meeting in January, they did meet in December to discuss 2nd Sunday, the event will return beginning in March.

Social- none.

Education- KET telethon was successful, and all involved had a great time.

Philanthropic- Leigh Seamon presented a triathlon fund raiser for the Markey Race for Womens Cancer benefiting the advocacy fund, on June 27th .  The fund is a 503c.  The event will include a 400M swim, 15 mile bike ride, 3.1 mile run, a duathlon, 5k fun run/walk, relay, and hopefully a kids triathlon.  Motion to support the race at $2500 was made by Jaime, amended by Griffe and passed.

Motions-  Motion to donate $2500 to support the Markey Race for Womens Cancer was made by Jaime Bagley, amended by Griffe Baute, and passed.
