Overall Difficulty:

Our routes will vary each week from easy rollers to the east to strenuous rollers to the south to occasional trips down to the ferry or on Grimes Mill that will include significant climbs.

A: Strenuous to Very Strenuous depending on route and distance.  Longer routes will tend to be less hilly.  Regrouping after hard climbs.

A/B: Strenuous, as above

B: Moderate to Strenuous depending on route.  Few major climb routes and fewer strenuous rollers routes.

Details:

Rides are not swept, but we will make every effort to keep each group together and not drop anyone.  Rotating pacelines will be the norm. Pace groups will regularly ride the same or similar routes to encourage trying a faster group.

Our corner of town offers a wide variety of terrain that we will incorporate week to week.  Routes will commonly venture toward one of three areas: Winchester road, Athens, or Union Mill road. Winchester road routes are largely easy rollers but may be more mileage particularly in the middle of the season.  Athens routes are largely easy rollers with a handful of bigger climbs.  Union Mill area will tend to be strenuous rollers with a handful of short but steep climbs such as Old Railroad.  Routes will occasionally incorporate major climbs such as Tates Creek to the ferry, Grimes Mill, or McCall's Mill.
